These are buildings we've spotted that look as if they may once have been pubs, or where it's been suggested by someone that they may have been. They're often very speculative and a good number will turn out never to have been pubs, while others may be so old that they were closed before living memory.
The reasons we've picked up on these buildings are varied: often a building just looks like it used to be a pub (signs of a cellar trap, or the common blanked-out middle window on the first floor where a sign might have hung), sometimes the name of a building gives the impression it may be referring back to an older use as a pub, other times documents (such as old OS maps or the Listed Buildings Register) suggest the possibility.
If you can shed any light at all on these; either to identify a pub or to confirm that a building has never been a pub (even centuries ago), please get in touch.
These are pubs which are either expected to reopen soon or are currently closed with an uncertain future. If you hear of any reopening or being converted to other uses, please let us know.
