A former wool merchant's house at the centre of this pretty village. This substantial, thatched 16th century building features heavily carved timbers in the bar. The six rooms and two bars offer a great variety. The use of open studwork allows some rooms to be light and airy, while huge fireplaces and dark timbers create a cosy atmosphere. The licensees concentrate on beer sales so sandwiches are the only available food (not Sun).
