A friendly 19th century pub, in a remote location, which is well worth seeking out. It's dog, family and "wellie" friendly, popular with walkers and cyclists and welcomes drinkers and diners alike.
There are two bar areas and a restaurant. The restaurant has a monthly changing menu featuring old favourites and some unusual dishes, using locally sourced ingredients. Wine from Thelnetham vineyard is stocked. Ciders are from local cider makers. There's live music on Tuesday evenings.
