Stoven Cherry Treehistorical era: late 20th century
closed April 2011
Southwold Rd, NR34 8ER
The Cherry Tree was a free house with two bars and a restaurant area. It offered a very varied menu with a Sunday Carvery in the spacious and comfortable restaurant area.
Built 17th century, with a mid 19th century façade, the pub reopened in mid-2008, having been closed for 3½ years. It closed again roughly April 2011, with a planning application for conversion to residential use having been applied for. This has since been granted and carried out.
The pub is shown on this old OS map from about the end of the 19th century. larger map
