Rushmere St Andrew Buck's headhistorical era: Victorian / Edwardian
All we know about these premises is a single newspaper report:
Henry Highbee, was committed for trial for having stolen a sovereign the property of Robert Howard, a labourer, of Rushmere. Howard had gone to the Buck's Head public house at Rushmere where he purchased earthenware, to the value of 1s 10d, from Highbee. He mistakenly paid for his goods with a sovereign and a shilling instead of 2s, he soon realised his mistake and told Highbee what he had done. Highbee denied theft but admitted defrauding Howard.Ipswich Journal, October 1850**
Could this actually be in the other Rushmere?
