1881 census suggests that location is near Manor Terrace, something confirmed by a development plan from 1879 mentioning "land near the Manor Terrace and Manor Hotel".
This building is shown on the 1881 OS map as the Manor Hotel.
A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 05 Aug in 1882 states that :
George CURTIS, Hotel Keeper, was applying for the removal of his licence at the Manor Hotel, Felixstowe & to have it transferred to a new house, about to be built, adjoining Sea Road, owned by George TOMLINE, which will be called CURTIS Hotel & will be used as an Inn, Alehouse or Victualling House.(we don't know if this was ever built?)
Boarded up and virtually empty for many years, permission to demolish it was given in the summer of 2013.
