A report in the Ipswich Journal** on Apr-21 in 1860 when Issac Hall (recently deceased) was the landlord of the May Fly states that :
Issac Hall owner and keeper of the Mayfly beerhouse, at the bottom of Herring Fishery Score (which runs beside the Wheatsheaf), died suddenly after returning from a neighbouring beerhouse where he partook of some ales and porter.
