A beerhouse is shown at this location on the 1881 OS map. Presumably it's the New Inn. If you can confirm or refute this, or have any more information, please let us know.
The 1904 Woodbridge licensing records show that the New Inn's beerhouse license was issued in 1869. The license was expired in 1907 as part of a scheme to reduce the number of alcohol licenses.
Our photo shows the building at this location. Signs either side of the gate with interlocked "N" and "I" give further credence to the idea that this is the right building.
