We know nothing about this apart from the fact that the Listed Buildings Register entry for the building says "Deeds are said to indicate that the house was an inn in mid C17." the 1909 Rates book records a "beerhouse and shop" at this address. This may possibly refer to the adjacent Red Lion, at present we don't know.
The building dates from the late 16th century.
