The 1837 OS map is marked "Compasses" at this approximate location. Was it a pub? If you know for certain one way or the other, please let us know.
There's no mention of this in the 1909 Rates book, so if it was a pub, it must have closed before then.
No pub references have been found in any of the censuses from 1841 to 1901.
