A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 15 Dec in 1860 states that :

Thomas Dowsing, a horse clipper, was charged with assaulting Johanna HILL, who kept the Ten Bells Public House, Tower Ditches, Ipswich. Found guilty and fined 40s and costs or 6 weeks imprisonment.
