Built 16th century, but much altered since.
A report in the Bury & Norwich Post** on Aug-08 in 1876 when Anna Maria & Phillip Gooding was the landlord and landlady states that :
John Taylor, a jealous guy, had been drinking in the Prince of Wales and on returning home argued with his wife. He hit her in the face then shot at her, the pellets removing the brim of her hat. Taylor was found guilty of attempted murder and sentenced to life imprisonment."
