A report in the Ipswich Journal** in Jan 1830 states that :
To be sold by private contract with possession at Michaelmas, that well established public house the, Three Tuns, in Rushmere, with stables, and all convenient outbuildings, in excellent repair, and about 4 acres of capital mixt soil arable land adjoining. These premises freehold, free of all outgoings, and being next the high road leading to the intended Norwich and Lowestoft Navigation, must command an extensive trade and become a valuable occupation.
