According to Jim Robinson's Lavenham's Pubs, Inns and Beer Houses (available from the Tourist Information centre) this pub is thought to have been at the end of the Guildhall.
The Listed Buildings Register for the Guildhall building makes mention of the fact that the Rose & Crown probably took up the end of the building.
