A lively and popular pub with two separate drinking areas served by a single bar. There are tiled or wooden floors, with a large real fire in the main room. There's live music monthly and terrestrial sport TV in the bar area. Occasional quiz nights are held.
The regular food menu is supplemented by daily specials (see the chalk board) and themed food nights. Phone ahead for gluten free or vegetarian options.
Some of the building dates from the 16th century, with much subsequent work.
