Beccles Queen's Head
Victorian or Edwardian
last updated 22/05/2013
A report in the Ipswich Journal* in 1884 (Feb-19) when Samuel Carsey was landlord stated:
"Carsey was given a package of butter and flour to look after for a customer. It turned out that the goods had been stolen earlier that day from the nearby grocers and was the property of a Mrs Fryett."
Evidently closed not long before 1909, as the ratings records of that year list the building as "Queen's Head (late)". 1911 and 1916 listings show that the pub reopened.
