The last landlord of the Vine was Cyril Bowles nicknamed "Crampy" the pub was know locally as Crampies! (information from Sue Canfer).

The last reference to this pub we've found is from 1922; it isn't shown on any available OS maps after this date so presumably closed not long afterwards.

A report in the Ipswich Journal*** in Jan 1870 states that : Died on the 7th, from bronchitis, Mary Ann, wife of Mr William Jackson, of the Vine Inn, aged 68.

A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 02 Aug in 1873 states that :

Auction of the Vine Commercial Inn, Wickham Market, on behalf of the late Mr William JACKSON.
