Note that this is a different pub to the Railway Bell over the river in the centre of Sudbury.
A report in the Ipswich Journal** in Sept 1880 states that :
Offered for sale at auction, Lot 3, the Railway Bell, beer house, Ballingdon, bought by Mr Butcher for £300.
