After closure used as a residential house but since demolished.

Located at TL672847, and situated in Sedge Fen, this ancient ale house existence is now outside living memory. Probably closed early in 1920's. Building on site is not the pub. I have a personal interest here as it is the address on my birth certificate! My parents moved to 'the Sheaf'' in 1943 and I turned up 1 year later! I recall the house as being just built from wood weather-boards, long since gone and replaced by a brick farmhouse.

No reference to a pub found on 1871 census - but Jacob Porter is then listed as a farmer (26 acres) together with his wife Mary Ann.
