This old pub is a Grade 2 listed building dating from the early 19th century. In recent years it's been left to decay into a poor state.
It was called the Steam Brewery Tap when it was owned by Victorian brewer Charles Cullingham, who set-up a brewery to the rear of the pub.
It was renamed the Brewery Inn after being acquired by Tollemache (after 1887), and later used as offices.
It's shown on this OS town plan of 1883.
