Also listed at 51 Bishop's Hill and strangely at 1 Wykes Bishop St (in 1865 & 1869)

The 1909 Rates book seems to suggest that the pub was at the end of the street, as it shows 45 - 47 - Pot of Flowers - empty land then nothing. This would be consistent with being close enough to Bishop's Hill to be listed there too.

James Crapnell, a seaman and wife Leticia Podd were landlords here sometime between 1871 and 1910; Herbert Skeet and their daughter Elizabeth may have taken over afterwards. Herbert later died aged 48 from cirrhosis at the Nightingale inn.
