A reference appears in the Ipswich Journal, May 30th 1752***, to cocking at Cha. Gissing's, King's Head, Eye.
To be lett, the King's Head in Eye, now in the occupation of Mr. John Notley. Enquire of Mr. John Jacob of Eye aforesaid.Ipswich Journal, 18 Apr 1778***
A reference appears in the Ipswich Journal, 31 July 1779***, to Charles Allum of Eye, an Innholder and a creditor's meeting to be held at the King' s Head in Eye (but this was not his inn).
A report in the Ipswich Journal, June 3rd 1837**, stated that Robert Koipe COBBOLD of the Eye Brewery was retiring from business & was looking to sell various Inns & Public Houses including the King's Head.
