The location of the Three Kings has been confirmed on the 1885 OS map at the Bury Record Office; the building on site now is modern, so the original one must have been demolished.
It became Montague Burton's in 1933 with a bar retained to the rear of the premises. After closure the right hand part of property was demolished to provide a new passageway.
The pub is listed at Market Hill and at 12 Great Market place in 1830 and at 13 Meat Market (between 1840 and 1891).
