Built late 16th or early 17th century.
A report in the Bury & Norwich Post** in 1884 (Feb-19) when Harry Brown was landlord states:
The landlord, Brown, was offered 2 trusses of hay for 3s 6d he countered with a bid of 2s 6d and a pint of beer. The purchase was made.
A report in the Ipswich Journal*** on 25 Sep in 1858 states the :
Auction of the White Horse, Bungay, for many years, in the occupation of Mr William CHALKER
In Dec 1982 edition of Last Orders**** it was reported that the White Horse was closed.
