Shown as a pub on the 1969 OS map but seems to be gone by the 1980 sheet, so presumably closed some time between those dates. Just to confuse the casual visitor, the building still displays pub signage (which is actually quite new).
A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 13 Sep in 1800 states that :
At the sign of the Ship, near Beccles Bridge, there will be a Main of Cocks. From your humble servant, Henry BLUNDERFIELD.
On 8 May 1906 planning permission was approved for alterations to the Ship Inn.
