A reference in the Ipswich Journal*** on 01 Nov 1729 to Edward Whaley at the Cross Tavern on the Cornhill.

A reference in the Ipswich Journal*** on 29 Aug 1730 to Edward Whaley at the Cross Tavern on the Cornhill.

A reference in the Ipswich Journal*** on 27 July 1734 to Edward Whaley at the Cross Tavern, now rebuilt in the Corn-Hill near the Market Cross in Ipswich.

A report in the Ipswich Journal*** on 21 April 1739 states

Edward Whaley, removed from the Cross Tavern on the Corn Hill into St Nicholas-street near the Faulcon, (selling spirits)
