Local rumours suggest that this lost pub was once a centre for local smugglers on the edge of the marsh.
The 1904 Woodbridge licensing records show that the Black Horse's beerhouse license was issued in 1843. It got a full license on Februray 6th 1961.
The building seems to have been abandoned for some years and is looking quite derelict.
A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 06 Sep in 1879 contained a Reference to Samuel MARJORAM at the Black Horse Inn.
