A heavily timbered 17th century pub with later additions. On the main A140 equidistant Norwich and Ipswich. there is a large beer garden with children's play area. It has a large restaurant with a good menu; speciality curry night on Saturday. There's a single traditional bar with pictures to show how close a WW2 bomber from local Eye airfield came to demolishing the pub in 1944. It has had the same friendly publican host for 33 years (as of 2016).
